Special Calm E-Report
Here's Wishing You a Successful 2005
Hello,
I prepared an
E-Report for 17 December last year and Optus, who is my
internet service provider (ISP) changed all their rules
for bulk mailing (without telling anyone). I
know this now, but it took me several weeks to determine
just what the issue was, so my apologies for this
belated E-Report.
My challenges were compounded by a lightning strike.
I was lucky - I didn't lose the computers - however, I
lost my cable modem, router, telephone system, fax and
printer. I am thankful that insurance came good,
so I've now got some new equipment .
Holidays
I'm hopeful that
you managed at least a few days off. For me it was
recharge time. I was blessed with having 20 days
in Bali with my family - my wife Sandra, my
son Andrew, his wife Su and their three children Emma,
Sean and Arissa (they all came over from Thailand); my
daughter Lara and her husband Stefan and my son Ian (who
came over from Malaysia).
Bali is a great destination - it is gradually recovering
from the devastating bombings (all the planes from
Australia were full) and the people are wonderful.
We stayed primarily at Lovina Beach which is about 15
kilometres west of Singaraja, the old port city on the
northern side of Bali. Our hotel was 50 metres
from the beach, complete with a beautiful inground pool
and double accommodation for A$10 per night (bed and
breakfast) for a room with a fan. We went
snorkelling, scuba diving, dolphin watching, driving and
more. The vehicles we hired were large 4-wheel
drives at A$16 each per day.
With my other
family members who did not come to Bali, we had a family Christmas Dinner
before we went, with
the usual Christmas fare, including those bon-bons with
the paper hats and jokes inside. This year, inside our
bon-bons we were pleasantly surprised to find some
different sorts of positive messages
and I would like to share with you …
"The greatest
mistake you can make in life is to be continually
fearing you will make one."
"Don’t start
living tomorrow – tomorrow never arrives. Start working
on your dreams and ambitions today."
"Smile at each
other; smile at your wife, smile at your husband, smile
at your children, smile at each other – it doesn’t
matter who it is – and that will help you to grow up in
greater love for each other."
"Believe in the
best, think your best, study your best, have a goal for
your best, never be satisfied with less than your best,
try your best, and in the long run things will turn out
for the best."
"First ask
yourself, is this my problem? If it isn’t, leave it
alone. If it is my problem, can I tackle it now?" "Do
so. If your problem could be settled by an expert in
some field, go quickly to him and take his advice."
Goals for 2005
You know the
importance of having goals! Make sure you convert
any New Year's Resolutions to written goals so that you
really work towards them.
I want to challenge myself this year and I know by
telling you of my intentions I could be adding to my
challenges or, looking at this the positive way, I
consider I am sharing my goals with you because you
could either support or assist me. This year,
2005, I intend to produce my 2-day CALM Life Skills
Seminar on DVDs plus CDs and a work-book. I am
going to develop and launch a facilitator program for
both the Students and CALM Seminars using DVDs and CDs.
I intend to launch my seminars and books, tapes, CDs and
DVDs in USA in 2005.
A Great Tool to Remember
and Use
When I do goals I
always include the Light - The Highest Light. It's
a good idea to call in the Light and place your goal in
the light and ask that it is successful for ... and say
these words: "For the Highest Good of All Concerned".
The Light (and
Love) is a powerful tool that we can all call upon to
use when dealing with other people. Remember how to do
it? In your mind, you bring to mind that part of the
person who is joined to you through the body of Energy
or the body of the Divine, and you silently send your
love to them. It helps even more if you use the Light to
do this by just calling upon it saying "I ask the Light
to to fill and surround and protect me for the Highest
Good of all concerned and I send my Love and Light to
you". It's amazing how powerful that is even when
dealing with people with whom there could be
considerable tension (of course this is done silently).
Giving When it Counts...
Here's a good positive
story (doing the email rounds) about giving and … I’ll
share a couple more with you below.
Many years ago, when I worked as a volunteer at a
hospital, I got to know a little girl named Liz who was
suffering from a rare and serious disease. Her only
chance of recovery appeared to be a blood transfusion
from her 5-year old brother, who had miraculously
survived the same disease and had developed the
antibodies needed to combat the illness. The doctor
explained the situation to her little brother, and asked
the little boy if he would be willing to give his blood
to his sister.
I saw him hesitate for only a moment before taking a
deep breath and saying, "Yes I'll do it if it will save
her."
As the transfusion progressed, he lay in bed next to his
sister and smiled, as we all did, seeing the colour
returning to her cheek. Then his face grew pale and his
smile faded.
He looked up at the doctor and asked with a trembling
voice, "Will I start to die right away".
Being young, the little boy had misunderstood the
doctor; he thought he was going to have to give his
sister all of his blood in order to save her.
So,
take care of
yourself and others … stay safe, well and happy … and
have a successful 2005. Stay in
touch and let me know of any successes you have using
Peaceful Place.

A Couple of Positive
Stories
The Obstacle in Our Path.
In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a
roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if
anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's
wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply
walked around it. Many loudly blamed the King for not
keeping the roads clear, but none did anything about
getting the stone out of the way.
Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables.
Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his
burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the
road. After much pushing and straining, he finally
succeeded. After the peasant picked up his load of
vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where
the boulder had been. The purse contained many gold
coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold
was for the person who removed the boulder from the
roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never
understand!
Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our
condition.
Cleaning Lady.
During my second month of college, our professor gave us
a pop quiz. I was a conscientious student and had
breezed through the questions until I read the last one:
"What is the first name of the woman who cleans the
school?"
Surely this was some kind of joke. I had seen the
cleaning woman several times. She was tall, dark-haired
and in her 50s, but how would I know her name?
I handed in my paper, leaving the last question blank.
Just before class ended, one student asked if the last
question would count toward our quiz grade.
"Absolutely," said the professor. "In your careers, you
will meet many people. All are significant. They deserve
your attention and care, even if all you do is smile and
say "hello."
I've never forgotten that lesson. I also learned her
name was Dorothy.
